When shopping for boots and booties, finding a pair that fits you perfectly is just as important as
finding a style you love. The right pair should not sacrifice comfort for style, and measuring your
boot size is key for ensuring you'll wear your favorite pairs over and over. With that, we've put
together a step-by-step guide to measuring your women's boot size.

STEP 1: TRACE YOUR FOOT

Put on the socks or tights you plan on wearing with your boots
and place your foot on a flat surface.

STEP 2: MEASURE LENGTH

Using a measuring tape, measure the longest part of your foot to find your boot size.

STEP 3: FIND YOUR FIT

Repeat steps 1 through 2 on your other foot. Using the measurements of your larger foot, refer to our Size & Width Guide to find your size in women's boots.

HOW TO MEASURE BOOT SHAFT HEIGHT

The boot shaft refers to the part of the boot that covers your ankle and/or calf. To determine the shaft height
on boots, measure the length of the boot, starting from the top of the heel — where it meets
the sole of the foot — to the top of the boot.

Compare your boot shaft height with the measurements below
to determine how your pair will fit you.

ANKLE & MID-CALF BOOTS

Ankle and mid-calf boots, or booties, refer to boot silhouettes with a shaft height ranging from 3 inches to 13 ½ inches.

KNEE-HIGH BOOTS

Knee-high boots refer to boot silhouettes that end right below the knee. These knee-high length boots feature a shaft height that ranges from 13 ¾ inches to 17 ¾ inches.

OVER-THE-KNEE & THIGH-HIGH BOOTS

Over-the-knee boots refer to boot silhouettes designed with shafts that extend beyond the knee. These include styles with boot shafts measuring 18 inches and higher.

HOW TO MEASURE CALF
CIRCUMFERENCE FOR BOOTS

Using a measuring tape, measure the fullest part of your calf to find its circumference.
Next, compare it to the shaft circumference of your boot to determine how it will ft your calf.
You can find this online on the product page in the product details section, or you can
also ask an SW Stylist at any of our boutiques.

WOMEN’S BOOT WIDTH CHART

Our proprietary boot width chart illustrates the differences between the widths we offer.
Please note that widths may vary slightly depending on the unique design of each style.

HOW BOOTS SHOULD FIT

The best-fitting boots should fit the length and width of your larger and wider foot. It is also
important to ensure they fit you in the heel as well: When walking, it should not feel like your
heel is lifting too much out of your boots. Boots with more than a half inch of slippage will need
to be sized down. We recommend trying on your boots with the socks or tights you plan to wear
with them to ensure they fit you perfectly.

IN-STORE BOOT STRETCHING

We offer a range of shoe services in our boutiques, and depending on the location,
some boutiques may offer boot stretching services. Find your nearest location and contact
the boutique to find out the services they offer.
